Strand-and-lash, overlash, and ADSS
Conventional aerial plant hangs a steel strand pole to pole and lashes the fiber to it; overlashing adds new cable to an existing lashed bundle — the cheapest aerial mile there is when the strand has capacity. ADSS (all-dielectric self-supporting) cable needs no strand and no bonding, which is why utilities specify it in and near the power space. We build all three, and the choice is usually made for you by pole class, clearances, and who owns the pole.
Make-ready and pole attachments
Every new attachment must fit National Electrical Safety Code clearances, which usually means moving what's already there. Our crews execute the make-ready work orders — lowering, raising, and transferring attachments — that turn an attachment license into buildable space. The regulatory side (who may attach, on what timeline, at what rate) varies by state and pole owner; our state guides cover the regimes where we build.
Aerial vs. underground, honestly
Aerial is faster and cheaper to build and easier to repair; underground is protected from weather and vehicles and often mandated in new developments. Most real networks are a hybrid, engineered span by span.
